Language Assessment
This program develops various concepts regarding assessment, which will help the future English Language teacher to face his or her assessment tasks more accurately. Additionally, it emphasizes concepts and techniques that give the assessment of the four language skills a central role within the teaching process. This subject is to be given in English.
Course Objectives
General Objectives:
1.- To develop the capacity of analyzing the assessment process as an information source about students’ performance.
2.- To develop the capacity of analyzing the diverse assessment forms that help the teacher as well as the student to favor the development of communicative competence in English
Specific Objectives:
1.-To generate positive attitudes in students about the assessment process in the L2.
2.- To determine assessment forms that helps the development of the four language abilities.
3.-To differentiate holistic assessment approaches from the ones that only detect grammatical, phonological or lexical aspects in isolation.
